Academicians have been blogging for quite some time now. One such list of professors who are blogging is on Rhetorica . Another list is at Gallowglass . There is an article in The Chronicle on this phenomenon. Most of the blogs in these lists belong to social scientists and lawyers. Surprising? I used to think that academicians from computer science department would outnumber the others.
Academicians have taken to blogging because of many reasons, some of them are: Ease of publication, Quick reviews, and Diversity of audience.
Will the practice of blogging become near-universal in academe? Or is it a temporary trend that will run its course?
